When hand washing your car, the best way to avoid contaminants is to use 2 different buckets, use one as the soapy water and the other with clean water to remove the soap remnants. Use a clean sponge and apply the cleaning liquid generously to clean off any gunk and dirt. Remember to start from the top and work your way down to the tyres.

After a general scrub, down you should then concentrate on restoring the hazy headlights. The longer your car is the more the plastic lenses deteriorate from exposure to the sun which causes it to turn hazy and make it harder for you to see while driving at night. Lucky, hazy headlights are easy to fix with a headlight restoration kit. These kits are easy to use and come with a step by step guide on how to use it. After following the instructions allow 30 minutes before the difference is visible. It is worth remembering, you should do your research into what cleaning products are good for your car and which aren’t. If in doubt you should test out the product on a small portion of your car.

Tyres

Typically, your tyres are among the dirtiest parts of your car, they are constantly collecting road grime and brake dust and in extreme cases stones, nails and other debris. It is important to make sure that you always check your tyres regularly to make sure that they are up to the task of transporting you. If you wash your car regularly then it shouldn’t take any extra effort to simply go over the wheels with a cloth and soap as part of your overall cleaning. It is also a clever idea to invest in a portable gauge that you can store in your glove compartment to check your tyre pressure on the drive.
